A Letter to Kennedy by Eric Thompson

Thank you, Eric, for allowing me to read your book. Normally I would leave my rating until the end but today I will start with the Rating. My reasoning for this is because I want to fully explain why I have given what I have.

My rating is 3 1/2 💋

So let me tell you a bit about the book. When we first meet Eric he is a man working hard to make a difference in his brilliant career and pushing his company for greatness. A man who doesn't want a child to complicate his life but manages to fall in love with a woman after meeting online. After them moving in very quickly they build a future together and Unexpectedly fall pregnant. After feeling confused about how he felt about the situation he began to write a letter to his unborn child which continued throughout her life.

When we first meet the beautiful and wonderful Kennedy she is getting ready for what appears to be a wedding and she is sent a package with a book in. This book contains the letters her father has written to her over the years and allows her to look back at her life and remember things but see it all from a different perspective. from the very beginning, all of these characters as a family go through soo many struggles it appears that luck was not their side many times only for the coin to be flipped when you least expected it to. There are plenty of twists and turns and unexpected moments that really make the book wonderful and captive. This book was heartwarming and the mention is raw and heartfelt throughout. The letters were incredibly beautiful and you could feel every emotion pouring out of Eric in them, these seriously were just wow! and I found myself excited waiting for the next.

So let me explain my reasoning for my rating. Although the book is incredibly beautiful and wonderful in my opinion at some points I think we veer off too much from the story by bringing in too many characters that it loses the pace of where we were in their story. I just felt that at some points there was soo much detail and repetitive writing about for example the flowers on the stairs and the reception area that it derailed me a little and I ended up wanting to skim past those bits. For me when the story was on Eric, Kennedy and Brandy I was totally hooked and couldn't pull myself away but when talking in details about another character I felt myself wanting to skip those bits just to get back to the main characters.

That being said it does not detract from the wonderfulness of this book and I definitely think you should go and read it because it is Heartfelt and beautifully written, it will make you look at your own life and second guess how you have looked at situations.

Thank you, Eric, I really did enjoy your book,
