Firstly I have to credit the amazingness of this book. It touches on tough triggers for many people and some very sensitive issues regarding emotional abuse But it is done so wonderfully and sensitively that it just makes this book incredible.
Grant is a man who has gone through heartbreak and prefers his own company and the company of his farm animals to that of people. He is sexy and smouldering but has learnt to lock his feelings and himself away from the world. During this book, we get to see a really soft and patient side to Grant which truly makes you fall in love with the guy.
Trish is a woman who has picked her kids up and fled an abusive relationship, a relationship that truly has scarred her. from some of the little details like not wanting to be touched in any way and how small things that many others would see as normal were a trigger for her. WOW, I was seriously blown away by this character.
When Trish's past comes back to haunt her this is where we get to see even more amazing qualities in both characters and where we get to see two wounded souls take on a journey neither expected or saw coming.
Jenni, from a person who has been in similar situations to that of Trish, I can not thank you enough for the portrayal of domestic abuse, you have done it with such care and quality that it really did touch my heart.
This book is incredible and I loved every second. thank you xx
