Thank you soo much for sending me an copy of this book to read and review.
I have loved Dylan's work so far but this was just so different from Dylan's other work and it is soo good.
Rowe follows a young woman by the name of katy who is a student that has moved across country to study. She met a group of friends who like hiking and decide to go on a kayaking trip.
Whilst on the Kayaking trip Kate discovers that her friends Jen who's planned the event didnt get permission for them to take the route in which they took. The soon discover the reason why as the journey downstream becomes seriously dangerous and Kate looses her friends.
When she finally comes to, she is lost in the woods and freeing cold. she hears an unusual sound that she fears and runs to hide not knowing what she is hiding from. When she finally see's what it is that is hunting her she realises its a man. Rowe
Rowe is a man of the wild. He can not speak any physical words instead uses his and his communities language in their way of communicating. when he finds katy. he wants to love, protect and keep her. Katy is unsure of why. I loved the relationship in the community in which Katy is taken to all the other members welcome her bar schmyll but i loved seeing how they survived in the wild and their personalities.
The connection between these two was lovely to see especially considering the barriers they faced. this story has plenty of dark elements to it. Kidnap, rape, killings. so be prepared if any of these could be triggers for you. the way the story unfolds keep you on the edge and some of the moments of darkness are not for the faint hearted and can also be heart-breaking at the same time.
I seriously enjoyed reading this story as it is like nothing i have read before. the way the story unfolds and the barriers really are captivating, I seriously just wanted to know what happens next and if Kate gets home?
