Thank you Rachel for sending us this book over for us to ARC read its very much appreciated .
Sophie is a highly strong 17 year old who has had an extremely hard life, starting with poverty not being able to afford food or bills and also trying to help look after her mother who has mental health issues. When Sophie’s mother passes away she finds herself all alone and having to be placed into the social care system because she is under the age of 18. Whilst being taken care of and starting to come to terms with her loss she is then thrust into another chapter when a father that she has never known makes an appearance into her life and makes her move to America to go and live with him, someone she has never met before and didn’t even know existed.
Sophie soon finds out that her loving father isn’t all he is cracked up to be and he’s actually a ruthless killer.
Barrat and Preston are members are the 1%ers at Sophies new school and to say they don’t make her feel welcome is an understatement.
There are many characters through this book that I could talk about but I found myself wanting Sophie to edge towards her fathers workers Tyler and Aiden that are tasked to follow her movements as I feel they really do have her best interests at heart. I’m routing for them and I’m intrieged to get to know more about them.
overall I really enjoyed this book and I’m gutted its ended on a cliffhanger ( I hate cliffhangers ) but I cannot wait to get stuck in with the next book and see what the author has in store for us.
