This is a book about a young single college dad, who has been burnt in the past by his ex and struggles to trust and let others in. Russell is a hockey player of all proportions with his sights set high on getting into the big leagues of hockey in order to give his daughter the best life possible.
Sabrina is a young Asian woman who is trying to make something of herself at college in order to stop living under her families rules demands. Being the youngest in her family means they all think she should be at home helping keep the family afloat by looking after everyone but this young woman has some major dreams and won't be deterred from them.
However, the characters were lovely and heartfelt but at times lacked that little bit of oomph that would have given them the edge.
This book was a good read, for me I felt it was a very slow burner but I felt like I needed to keep reading in order to know more about the characters. My only critique would be that in places it was soo slow that I got slightly bored but forced myself o keep reading and I was glad I did as I enjoyed the overall story.
